Do you direct bill to insurance companies?
We do not directly bill to insurance companies. We do accept all forms of payment (debit, major credit cards, e-transfer, cheque or cash) due after each session.
What can I expect during my time as a client?
Because our desire is to empower the individual, couple or family, treatment usually involves a limited number of sessions. We work collaboratively with clients, and other health professionals to ensure that all psychological, social and physical treatments complement each other. In order for work done in sessions to be translated to life outside of the therapy room, clients can expect to be asked to participate in therapy through work done at home between therapy sessions.
What if I miss an appointment or there is a storm?
We require at least 24 hours notice of appointment cancellations. A missed appointment fee of $87.50 will be applied after two missed appointments/late cancellations.
*Please note that most insurance companies, as well as Veterans Affairs, NIHB, etc., DO NOT compensate for missed appointments. The client will be directly billed this fee.
**Also note that sessions will be cancelled if the client is more than 10 minutes late, and a cancellation fee will be applied.
Storms: We will NOT apply our late notice rules in the event of storms in your area or in Truro. Please do not feel the need to keep your appointment should the driving conditions be poor. Simply notify us of your decision about the weather and we will contact you to rebook. Our offices are closed if/when the classes within the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education are cancelled. (www.ccrce.ca)
